Next, the Texas Association of School Boards, also known as TASB, hosted an annual recognition program to assist districts in expressing appreciation to businesses that support schools and students and encourage others to step up to help. We have the opportunity tonight to extend our gratitude to seven of our business partners. Each business partner will be asked to come forward as we highlight the details of our partnership. To lead the recognition, I'd like to introduce Janet Tice, Director of Community Partnerships, leading the district's Partners in Education Department and the Katy ISD Education Foundation.
Thank you, Madam President, Board Members, Dr. Hint. It is an honor to announce on your behalf these businesses recognized by the Texas Association of School Boards and their Stand Up for Public Schools program. In KDISD, great business partners understand that our most meaningful, influential partnerships start with people first. Long term sustains relationships, friendships really, between employees and campus staff. The businesses we recognize tonight are stellar examples of what we look for in our KDISD school business partnership family. They stand up for Texas public schools by walking into our schools and making a difference for teachers and kids. Each has created its own unique way to connect with our campuses and although their partnership resumes are extensive, in the interest of time tonight I'm just going to spotlight one thing that makes each of them unique. As I introduce each business, their designated representative will come forward while others in the audience who are here with them please stand. And I'd also like to invite representatives of their partner campuses to stand as well when I call out their names. then we'll recognize them all as a group when we get to the end of the introductions. Brazos Valley Schools Credit Union, represented tonight by President and CEO Yvonne Kirshner. Brazos Valley employees have long been frequent flyers, frequent hands-on helpers in schools all over Katy-Ice-D, and have proven quite willing to get all the way up to their elbows in glue if that's what it takes to help teachers. Their level of personal engagement is truly exceptional. exceptional. They will do anything, assist with student registration, label and barcode library books and more, even judging the all-important pumpkin decorating contest. Best of all, they deliver staff breakfast and cookie treats to every single KDISD campus every year and have done this for years. Many Brazos Valley friends serve as Keys mentors. They are faithful Promise to Read volunteers. They give freely of their time, the most valuable gift and for that we are grateful. Chick-fil-a, Mason Road, Cinco Ranch, Katie Green, Rusty Wiley is the owner. They're represented tonight by Wendy Reinwald, their marketing director. Several years ago Wendy came in my office and pitched Chick-fil-a's new core essentials program. Through her diligence and owner Rusty Wiley's continued support and support of our counseling department, this incredible program is now at every Katie Icete campus. It's not unusual to to see the character quality of the month on our school marquees when we drive by as Chick-fil-A's core essentials programs become woven into our school support initiatives district-wide. And now Chick-fil-A's Leader Academy, a national high school leadership program, engages students outside of our traditional student leadership groups. That program has been launched at Morton Ranch and May Creek High Schools with great success. Curriculum and materials are all fully funded by Chick-fil-A. KDIC school staff facilitate the lessons and both of those schools plan to continue next year. As you can see our friends at Chick-fil-A are about a whole lot more than selling chicken. GEICO is represented tonight by Ann Robinson and Beth Henderson. We often get verbal support for our keys and junior achievement programs for larger companies but many find releasing their employees to volunteer difficult. GEICO has tackled that challenge with determination because they believe in supporting their employees' personal volunteerism and because they have great employees. GEICO is one of Junior Achievement's most loyal supporters, supporting the JA Golf Tournament annual bowl-a-thon. Most important, GEICO employees teach Junior Achievement at more than 50 classes every year and their employees are key mentors for students all over Katy ISD. That contribution, their people, and the company's willingness to prioritize employee volunteerism is to us the heart of exemplary corporate partnerships. Members Choice Credit Union, represented tonight by Randy Teelig, their CEO. Members Choice has been actively supporting our schools for as long as I can remember. Most recently they have crafted a unique school partnership with Schmalz Elementary. A vision of Kelly Gaines, who's here tonight taking pictures. Wave, Kelly. Books and a Buddy is now in its second year and is a huge hit with Schmoll's teachers, students and their families. Members' Choice has collected or purchased more than 18,000 books for approximately 1,300 kindergarten, first and second grade students. Each student received a teddy bear, the Buddy, and seven books all tucked in their very own drawstring backpack, designed and paid for by Members' Choice. 30 credit union employees sorted and packaged all those books and then showed up to personally hand them to students on curriculum night. Books and Abudies is a program that takes vision, planning, initiative and commitment and that's qualities we see in Member's Choice every single day. Memorial Hermann Katie, represented by their CEO, Heath Rushing. Memorial Hermann is the district's athletic healthcare sponsor, providing medical support, support, a concussion prevention program, and dedicated trainers for KDISD. As a leader in health care, Memorial Hermann is uniquely positioned to offer KDISD students first-hand experiences in its careers, providing a junior volunteer program, and sustaining a vibrant health sciences partnership with Miller Career and Technology Center. As a business partner, Memorial Hermann employees stay actively engaged in our Promise to Read and QIES mentoring programs. They are faithful supporters of the Key Scholarship Fund and the KDIC Education Foundation. Wood Group, represented tonight by Ashley Rayleigh. Martin Ranch Junior High is celebrating its third year of a unique partnership with Wood Group, part of the company's Founders Legacy Program. This three-year partnership began with a generous contribution of funds to purchase iPads and and quickly turned into the greater contribution of time, talents, and resources. Wood Group employees mentor Morton Ranch students, they adopt Morton Ranch families for the holiday season, and make everyone's day when they pull up to the campus with Trailblazer, a one-of-a-kind engineering museum on wheels. And if that's not enough, Wood Group provides people and money to beautify and upkeep the school's courtyard area. area. This level of commitment and engagement is rare among corporations of Wood Group's size. Founders' legacy, I think, speaks to the character of Wood Group employees and certainly to the character of the company itself. Brian Haynes could not be with us tonight, but we'd like to recognize the Monte Ballard YMCA of Cinco Ranch. Since its opening, the Y has been a devoted KDIC partners in education, education, always on the lookout for ways to help children, and much of it goes unnoticed. The Y's Partners program provides clothes, food, free swim lessons, and Y memberships for Katy ISD students and their families in need. The essence of the Y's community outreach is their annual backpack drive. This year, in Katy alone, our local Y collected items for 2,500 backpacks benefiting children at 44 of our schools. schools. An ardent supporter of our key KDST students run program, the Y has helped expand that initiative to three KDSD high schools. This year 60 non-athlete students and their coaches crossed the Houston half marathon finish line together, supported by organizations like the YMCA. Our Texas Association of School Board Honorees or Brazos Valley Schools Credit Union and none of you stood up. If you work for Brazos Valley please stand up or you partner with them. If you're a campus, there you are. Chick-fil-A, Mason Road, Sinker Ranch, and Katie Green. Where are you girls? There you go. Geico, Members Choice Credit Union, Memorial Hermann Katie, Monty Ballard YMCA, and Wood Group. We are proud to recognize these partners as shining examples of KDIC partnerships, and thank you to the board and Dr. Hint for giving us the opportunity to recognize them. We're grateful. It's a blessing to work with all of you. We really do appreciate you. Thank you.
Thank you. Thank you.

Patsy is the epitome of love and patience. She will tell you she was the head cheerleader for Stan Stanley. And as we all know Stan was a pillar in this community and I've said many times all pillars are built, they stand tall and they do not tumble because of the foundation that was laid before they were ever erected. Stan and Patsy have a love and a foundation in their faith and Patsy was a strength and a support for Stan in all of his endeavors that allowed him to always shine bright and tall in all that he did I'm not sure why Patsy's name was not originally added to Stanley Elementary as I was not on the board at that time but this has been something that's been on my heart since his passing a year ago since his passing I have watched miss Stanley as she's been at the school she's read to classes she's been to parties she's welcomed new students she said goodbye to graduating fifth graders she's enjoyed enjoyed cafeteria time and made herself available for carnival fun and welcomed a new principal. As Patsy carries on the legacy of Stan Stanley, and as I read before, she in her own right has a legacy that will also be carried on. I can't think of a greater honor than adding her name to Stanley Elementary and having it become Stan C and Patsy Stanley Elementary. In her own words, real happiness is serving others with purpose, passion, and perseverance, and Patsy Stanley exhibits all of them and I'm honored to be part of this naming tonight.
I'm sure there are other board members who would like to add in I'm probably all gonna take a turn who would like to go next
madam president mr. Mahalsky yeah I'll take the difficult act of follow thank you thank you I mean you did say it all no I mean really what I want to say is I I am extremely excited to kind of, for this formality and to make this official, but I've got to say, Patsy, I've always, you don't need your name on the building to be a namesake in my book because you are the epitome of, and all the peers that are sitting around you right now. And I just want to say we love you and we're so excited for you and all that you mean to all those amazing little children at Stanley Elementary School.
I'm not sure if it's working, but go ahead.
Okay. Yay! But anyway, I'll just keep it short. But what a wonderful night this is that we can honor you and Stanley, Mr. Stanley, for adding your name to this school, a wonderful school that I had the privilege of Courtney didn't brag about herself but she was the founding PTA president the first two years at Stanley Elementary which is a part of the vision she has an amazing love and relationship but I got to be her mentor for those two years as well and guiding her in establishing what the amazing Stanley PTA so it's thank you for saying that just the perfect things tonight mrs doyle and um and i'm just over overjoyed
that impressive uh i just want to say that who could say it better than mrs doyle did i second her speech that's all i can say it was a wonderful remark and uh it was just it was very touching courtney i mean mrs doyle
There's so much that you could say about about Patsy. This is probably one of the happiest moments I've had on the board. You know, every time we name a school after someone, it's probably one of the best things we do. Rezoning is probably one of the worst. And to And to go to a woman who has accomplished so much. I mean, I just, the pictures of you and Stan in my mind dancing at so many events, I'm just so excited to add your name to the school and have, and just hope that you just are there for so many more years with those young people just loving on you. And I'm just so excited. Well deserved.
Mr. Fox.
Ms. Griffin.
Thank you, Ms. Doyle and Ms. Vance. for bringing this agenda item to the board it was a long time in the waiting but I'm so happy that we finally got it done dr. Hint I task you that uh on our future schools need names if you deemed them NERC Ness worthy please include the mr. and miss I think this board is more than happy to recognize both sides if you deem them worthy and you know some people think that namesakes only provide advice for the students but I think our namesakes know a lot better at sea thank you for all the advice that you and Stan gave me over the five years so far thank you very much I know tonight that Stan smiling down on us really big and I hope he's got big tears dripping down that we finally corrected a oversight from the board thank you very much
you might need to pass those tissues thank you mrs. Doyle we're sharing such a great story about mrs. Stanley and all the things she's been involved in and the list is long and impressive And your name on that school is so fitting. It's your school. Stan, we all knew that, right? You were as much, you have always been as much a part of that school. And we talked about that when Stan passed, like, why isn't her name, we just need to add her name to the school. and with his anniversary just passing and your birthday was just passing it's just really a great time the thing I know about you if I may call you miss Patsy you are my mentor you are my friend you are my Bible study teacher you are my lunch partner you are my advisor when I need help you are my encourager someone with a kind word encouraging a bible verse just when i need it and i love you more deeply than i can say thank you and i love your stories about the babies at stanley Elementary. I have so many and I say what's the latest story and I also love learning your love story here since Dan's love story and your daughters are a perfect reflection of who the two of you are and your granddaughters and your qualities show and grandson your qualities show through through your family. And that's what you do at Stanley Elementary. You just keep pouring out that love and being that family member and mentor for them and for the teachers and for the principals. You are always available for us. You have energy. You are the Energizer bunny. You're everywhere. You say yes to everything. And watching you in the retired educators group and just how people look to you for wisdom and love and encouragement I'm

About the underlying data (7 notes)
- The transcript on this page was produced automatically by speech recognition. No person has checked it against the recording. It is a way to find a passage, not a quotation.
- No speaker on this recording is identified. The transcript separates one voice from another but does not name them, and every turn therefore reads Unknown speaker.
- The speaker turn timeline is not continuous. There are intervals with no attributed turn, so a gap between two turns is not evidence that nothing was said.
- The district’s video index for this meeting carries no timestamps, so the recording is presented here as a single section rather than divided into agenda items.
- The district publishes this recording as 23 separate files rather than one. The player on this page plays the first file; the later parts are on the district’s own player, linked above. Transcript times run continuously across the whole recording, so a time past the end of the first file will not play here.
- The recording is played here from the district’s own stream. The archive does not hold or serve a copy of the video.
- No speaker on this page is named. The automated attribution available for this recording was derived from names spoken aloud in the transcript, and a surname inside a turn is not evidence of who is speaking. Every speaker is therefore left unresolved.
