MOTION 004 · AGENDA 8.3

Passed

It is recommended that the Board of Trustees adopts the Maintenance and Operations property tax rate of $0.9988 and the Debt Service property tax rate of $0.3900 under Tax Code Section 26. It is further recommended that the Board of Trustees approves the attached order adopting the Maintenance and Operations tax rate of $0.9988 per $100 valuation and the Debt Service tax rate of $0.3900 per $100 valuation for the tax year 2020. The property tax rate will be increased by the adoption of a tax rate of $1.3888, which is effectively a 0.78 percent increase in the tax rate. This statement is required by the Property Tax Code because the rate exceeds the No New Revenue tax rate calculation, although the actual tax rate decreases.
