1. Turns out Lance Hindt plagiarized word-for-word over half of his doctoral dissertation (or paid someone who did). University of Houston is no more eager to admit this than Katy ISD was, but their hand will be forced in the next couple of weeks, per their policy. Anyone who has actually read the dissertations is abundantly aware.
2. The Vice President of our Katy ISD School Board, Bill (William) Lacy, has a history of half a dozen recent federal liens, one of which was paid off last month. He controls how we spend our billion-dollar budget, but he can’t manage his own personal finances.
3. Courtney Doyle, President of the Katy ISD School Board has hundreds of thousands of dollars in outstanding federal liens, but is currently building a pool and an outdoor kitchen in her backyard. I hope her new backyard will be open to the public, since the public is paying for it.
4. It is illegal in some states for public office holders to have tax liens. While not illegal in Texas, there is certainly a reasonable precedence for me to share my discomfort with these facts at a public meeting. You don’t get to revoke my freedom of speech because you don’t like to hear my opinion.
Thank you to all the adults in the district who are here for the right reasons, outspoken or not. Hang tight, things will get better.
