Taylor High School told their students “If you see something, say something.” Here’s what happened when a young girl said something: 3 days of suspension, and at least 75 days of alternative school. In the video below, you’ll learn the story, from meeting with the principal, to the KISD hearing and results.
While I believe this girl’s response was a very natural response, and didn’t deserve the punishment. I ask that the Taylor student body try not to outcast any student. I also encourage students to go through the proper chain of command first, but always remember that the safety of you and your friends comes before KISD’s reputation.
Once outcasts give up on trying to integrate they may end up with nothing to lose. This is turned inward or outward, and we don’t want either. Try to find something positive and encourage the outcasts. One brave person could step up and change someone’s life for the better. Please spread the word.
